On 1st March 2023,  the Financial Times Group (FT Group) acquired the product and consulting assets of Wavteq Group Limited (Wavteq). The Wavteq brands; including Amplify, IncentivesFlow, InvestmentFlow, InvestmentMap, Influencers, Institute and their strategy and advisory services have joined the fDi Intelligence  portfolio. 

FT has not acquired the lead generation division of Wavteq, which can still be found here.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

This person will play an integral part in outreach and coordinating activities for global prospects, as well as coordinating the execution of lead generation programming.

What we’re looking for:

● Desk-based research: working independently to analyse and assess the corporate expansion potential of companies based on KPIs.

● Desk-based outreach: Conducting high-volume outreach using a variety of tactics such as phone calls, LinkedIn, and email campaigns to engage with companies. This involves cold outreach so you must have tenacity and resilience, a great phone manner, and the ability to think outside the box to get companies interested in your pitch.

● Project management and reporting: working both independently and with your team to ensure the successful management of projects which may include resource planning and management, monthly reports, regular client check-in calls, etc. To ensure this, you will need to be process-driven, capturing activities on our CRM, and committed to turning around high-quality updates/reports/trackers that illustrate to the client that we’re delivering on their projects.

● Event attendance (where applicable): Depending on your level or the client, you may be required to attend industry trade shows on behalf of clients and to enhance our intelligence and contact base in key sectors such as fintech, cybersecurity, transportation, and logistics, or banking and professional services. To deliver results here, you will need to be friendly, engaging, and able to pique the interest of decision-makers in our client’s offer.

Minimum Qualifications

● Relevant experience in Chinese international investment and/or economic development: 2-3 years minimum

● Native mandarin speaker with strong English language communication skills

● Must be confident and experienced in contacting and engaging with senior corporate decision-makers in Chinese large and small companies

● Proven results in closing deals and achieving sales or delivery targets

● Adept with using social media in China for business development

● Comfortable using the phone with strong oral and written communication skills

● Excellent inter-personal skills with a high level of professionalism in meeting with senior executives and government officials

● Demonstrates our company values of confidentiality, respect, trust and professional conduct, which are essential to be able to represent our government clients and engage with Chinese business executives

● Technologically proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc

● Flexible and adaptable with the aptitude for handling different projects simultaneously and delivering targets to deadlines

● Self-motivated and able to work in both an independent setting and a team environment

● At ease working in an international setting and across time zones

● A passion for international trade & development

Preferred Qualifications

● Sales training certifications

● Proven results in closing deals and achieving sales or delivery targets

● Experience using CRM systems (Salesforce, Dynamics, etc)

● 2-4 of sales experience

● Knowledge of FDI and trade

● Additional language fluency

● Adept with using social media and knowledge of online marketing techniques e.g. mail merge/webinars/LinkedIn Sales Navigator
